We Are Ready to Build!

We recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for our new building, which will be located on Highway 58, one quarter mile west of Clarksville. Pastors Charles and Beth Davidson, who established it in 1980, are entering their 30th year of ministry with the hope that the congregation will celebrate this anniversary in our brand new building.
After purchasing 31 acres of land just outside the town limits, Red Oak Excavating was hired to clear the land. Hughes & Atkins Construction Company, Inc. will begin construction of the 19,000 square foot building this week, which will cost approximately 1.5 million dollars by completion.
Our church began as a congregation of only a handful of people, meeting in homes until February, 1980, when we rented a building on Fourth Street. In May of 1981, we moved into our current building with the option to buy, which transpired four years later. Then, in 1997, our congregation celebrated ownership of our current building with a mortgage-burning service. Now thirteen years later, we embark on our most exciting move of all with the building of our new church.
The House of Prayer has a vision for the establishment of families and for racial/social reconciliation and unity in the Body of Christ. We have an average attendance of about 120 people. We have sent teams to minister in 15 countries, as well as, many states throughout the US. In addition, we have planted churches in South Hill, Virginia and in Zimbabwe, Africa. Our hopes and expectations are to minister to and train people who will reach out into the 30 mile radius as well as nations around the world. We invite everyone to attend service each Sunday at 10 a.m. and may call 434-374-2007 for more information.
