About Us

Our Story

We are a non-denominational church that has been in existence since February of 1980. We have grown into a beautiful congregation of people who love and serve Jesus Christ. We were located in the old theatre building in downtown Clarksville for 30 years before moving to our current location on Highway 58 in May of 2011. While downtown, many people experienced the power and presence of God that brings salvation and healing to our lives. God’s goodness and faithfulness continues with us today.

We are a spirit-filled congregation that believes in the values that are set forth in the Word of God. Teaching and building Christian principles that strengthen the home and encourage the family are part of our normal activities here. Coming from many religious, cultural, social, and educational backgrounds, our church provides a bridge to our community for breaking down barriers that would normally divide us.

The House of Prayer has a progressive vision that extends from our community into the outermost parts of the earth. We have sent teams to minister into fifteen nations of the world and believe that this is just the beginning of what God will do as more people surrender their lives to Him. We are privileged to be a part of His eternal plan for our community and the world.

Our Vision

We are a passionate congregation, excited about the vision God has given us.

A vision to see families established according to the Word of God and to see broken families restored and equipped to serve with excellence.

A vision to see racial and social reconciliation and unity in the Body of Christ. The Church should be a place where every person is welcome regardless of color, creed, or social status. Each individual is precious to God and should be treated in that fashion.

A vision to see our young men and women loving and serving Christ from childhood and being equipped to become leaders that will take the Body of Christ into the future.

A vision to reach our communities within a 30 mile radius with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A vision  to develop ministry teams to be sent out from the church into the nations of the world.

A vision to impact the world in missions by training others to build thriving churches in their own environments.

Missions

The House of Prayer has been involved in missions in Zimbabwe, Africa since 1990. Through the help of the Holy Spirit, they have helped to establish several churches, staffed by local pastors in the Harare area. They are also instrumental in founding and maintaining the Father’s House Orphanage, in Ruwa. In addition, teams from the House of Prayer have ministered in 15 nations over the years. Our hope is to do as much as God enables us in fulfilling the Great Commission by making disciples throughout the world.
